All pupils at South Norwood Primary School in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal every day. There are no forms to fill out and you do not need to let the school office know. Your child can let their class teacher know that they are school dinners during the morning register. Your child is entitled to a free school meal throughout the year or they can change between packed lunches and school dinners whenever they choose.
Children in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 also receive a free school meal every day in acaemic year 23-24 thanks to a grant from the London Mayor.
At present the school lunches are supplied by ‘Nourish.’ All meals are hot, with a choice where possible. (No sandwiches are provided.) A drink of water is provided.
Money for school meals is payable in advance on the first day of each half term. Please pay via ParentPay.com.

Packed Lunches
Alternatively your child may bring a packed lunch. It is important to provide a strong lunch box. Drinks should be in an unbreakable flask or carton. All lunch boxes and flasks should be clearly labelled with your child’s name. No glass containers or fizzy drinks are allowed. No sweets, chocolate bars or nut products are allowed.
CHILDREN ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BRING SWEETS TO SCHOOL. NO NUT PRODUCTS ARE PERMITTED DUE TO ALLERGIES.
KS1 are provided with fruit from the school and KS2 children are encouraged to bring a piece of fruit in for break time.
