Home Learning

We feel that home learning is an important opportunity for families to support their child’s learning, to find out which topics/subjects are being covered, to give them an advantage with future learning, consolidate learning and to promote their independence.

Reception

Reception send home phonics homework linked to the phonemes we have taught in school and a homework project each half term such an Autumn pictures, special boxes, family trees etc.

Years 1 and 2

Year 1 and 2 send maths, English and handwriting homework each week that includes the weekly spellings they are learning in class.

Years 3 to 6

Years 3 to 6 send maths homework related to what has been learnt that week alongside a reading comprehension or a grammar piece.  Alongside that there are weekly spellings and timestables to learn and we expect every child to read for at least 10 minutes every day at home.
